Unleash the Villains, Disney’s Friday the 13th LTM happened this past friday.
And much like the 24 hour parties, this event was poorly planned for those who tried to get in. For those who did get in it was Hellish! According to reports, Disney has over one million passholders. They do this, on a nice warm friday night, with no blackout dates. What did they think only a few will show up? They ran out of the special food they advertised, they sold out on event shirts. They need to plan these things better!

GAC becomes DAS (Disabled Assistance System) Beginning Wed Oct 9th.
The Guest Assistance Card is being discontinued beginning Wed Oct 9th. People with disabilities will no longer to able to bypass people in lines. The new process will be as follows:
Guest with wheelchairs can wait in lines that can accommodate them. Like all rides in DCA. (I’m not clear how it works for non accessible rides.
Guests who are eligible for a DAS goes to City Hall and has their photo taken.
Once they have the Card guests will go to a Kiosk and get a time issued to them as to when they can ride the ride. Time will be based on the current wait time. Minus 10 or 15 minutes for travel time. So if a ride that is 90 minutes then their time stamp will be for 75 minutes after the stapm is issued.
Only the person who is photographed can be issued the timestamp. So they can’t transfer it.

Maybe I messed something up, but I subscribe on iTunes and it seems my episodes are always a couple weeks old. For example I just got episode 66 today when 67 has been out since last week. Please help.
Daniel’s wife Laurie was great in episode 66! More of her!

Hi Konan,
First off.. Awesome name.
New episodes are exclusive to the Touring Plans Podcast network. So they appear there first, then a few weeks later on the normal feed. You can subscribe to the touringplans.com podcast network and get new episodes as they come out. Every other Monday. But on that feed you get all their other shows as well. Laurie and I do another show together called, “Getting Dirty with Daniel and Laurie” and it’s all about the sport of Obstacle Racing. (www.gettingdirtypodcast.com) She’s a pro!
Thanks for listening

Read above comment and had the same concern. Any way to release the podcast sooner? I know you joined the podcast network, but by the time we get it on Itunes it’s really “Stale” Looked into the other shows, but not interested in any of them. Anyway, look forward to this episode; eventually. 🙂

I understand. But for now newer episodes are exclusive to Touring Plans. But thanks for your feedback. It counts. You could always subscribe to their feed and just not download or delete the other shows. (That’s what I do. Shhhhhh) Doing it that way really helps us out and you get new episodes. 🙂
The other shows on the network gets the same type of comments from their listeners as well. TP knows how *I* feel about it. But we are still experimenting so hopefully it will be addressed in the future. In any event, thanks for listening.

Enjoyed listening to the ideas about how to update the Matterhorn. But I couldn’t help but cringe when there was talk about adding the Swedish chef and a Smörgåsbord. Switzerland and Sweden are very different countries and cultures. :).
