Thank God for social media! Why? Because it prompts Disney to create cool videos like this! Enjoy…
Wednesday Photo Challenge 4-4-12 – Answer
Hey everybody. Definitely got more guesses this time. But surprisingly a lot of guesses were wrong. A lot of folks guessed Arial’s Grotto. But that’s wrong.
It’s was …
King Triton’s Carousel! You can see the mermaids to the right and left of the sign. Every trip we take to DCA induces a ride on this attraction! It’s a family favorite!
Here are the folks that got it right:
- Robert Erickson
- Ashley Hodgson
- Alison Hodgson
- LilLeopard (Twitter)
Thanks to everybody that played and we will see you next week!
Wednesday Photo Challenge 4-4-12
Ok everybody.. So it would seem that last week’s challenge was a little on the hard side. I probably would have missed it too if I didn’t know what it was.. Probably. 😉
Anyways the picture I originally picked this week is probably even harder than last week. So I’ll make this one a bit easier.
Here’s the deal. I put up a picture, you guess what it is. What do you win? A Wednesday that is a little less sucky… So here we go..
Where in the Disneyland Resort is this detail?
If you know the answer to this one, or you think you know, all you have to do is drop me a line. You can do this by:
- Leaving a comment here (the recommended, simple way)
- Send me a direct message on Twitter (@disgeekpodcast)
- Or drop me an e-mail: daniel@disgeek.com.
I’ll keep your answers hidden so that more people can guess, therefore YOU will be able to see your answer, but no one else will.
Tomorrow morning I’ll post the names of players who guessed correctly and reveal a new photo with the correct answer.
Have a great magical day and good luck!
The Streetmosphere for Buena Vista Street
While I’m super excited for the opening of Cars Land on June 15th, I’m equilly as excited for Buena Vista Street. I often ask myself what’s the big deal? It’s just going to be a trolly and some shops.
The Details.
Details like the ones released the other day from the Disney Parks Blog. Check it out!
When you enter Disney California Adventure park this summer, you’ll step back in time to Los Angeles of the 1920s and ‘30s on Buena Vista Street. One of the keys to creating a truly immersive environment like this is populating it with interesting and believable characters, so Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment has been hard at work developing the unique personalities and show experiences that will bring the new entrance avenue to life.
Buena Vista Street is alive with optimism and opportunity. It’s a boulevard of dreams and dreamers… like the Citizens of Buena Vista Street. This cast of characters will interact with guests in this area of the park, creating impromptu laughs, smiles and memories wherever they go.
The Red Car News Boys roll into town on one of the shiny Red Car Trolleys, belting out “California, Here I Come!” Inspired by the spirit and style of Disney’s “Newsies,” the Red Car News Boys bring the latest headlines and engage their audience with fun songs of the ‘20s and ‘30s.
Over “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” the musical group Five & Dime arrives in Carthay Circle to jazz things up. This ensemble of friends and relations, headed up by a vivacious singer named Dime, has travelled down Route 66 all the way from Chicago in the hopes of making it big. Like everyone who comes to Buena Vista Street, great things await them just around the corner!
Stay tuned. We’ll have more to share about these entertaining new offerings coming to Disney California Adventure park as we get closer to the opening of Buena Vista Street on June 15.
Wednesday Photo Challenge 3-28-12 Answer
Well, it would appear that I blew it! I made the picture too hard! My brother told me that if I make it too hard I won’t get as many entries. He was right! I didn’t get as many guesses as we normally do and the ones I did get were ALL WRONG! But good guesses! I cropped the image ever so slightly as I felt UN-cropped would give it away. So here it is un-cropped. Guess again then I reveal it below:
Did you guess right?
That’s right! Goofy’s Sky School!
These tools are located at the unload area of the ride. Right next to one of the control panels (I cropped out!). This last weekend my 4 year old daughter was finally tall enough to ride. She had been waiting for weeks for this, so it was a very exciting moment! And she LOVED it! My mom, not so much…
Thanks to everybody who participated! Sorry nobody got it right. We’ll see if I do better next time. Seeya next week!
